Walking in Love

While searching for something or other last week I came across some of my notes from years ago when I first began this walk with God.
There are no grand ideas or expounding on the scripture. When reading 1 Corinthians 13 it hit me like a ton of bricks that I was not giving enough love to others or allowing myself to receive it. So the love walk journey began. You can not give to others what you do not possess.
Not that you can possess something as intangible as love but rather I wanted to walk in it. This long love walk is not always pretty or easy. There were days I question everything I know to be true but I hope believe and endure that the end result would be amazing. I am still walking that walk and learning from it daily.
Learning that sometimes you can love people up close and others while standing in the background. As with all things you should use wisdom and discernment to know when you should love someone up close or from afar.  The elders had a saying "Sometimes you have to love someone with a long handle spoon."
I am praying that this blesses you and draws you closer to Jesus!

Don't get discouraged in doing what is right!

This scripture has been playing over and over in my mind lately. I have found myself speaking it out loud during various mundane activities like laundry and dishes.

I decided to stop the good fight on dishes and bought paper plates. Don't judge me people... cooking for 8 on a nightly basis is no small feat...

Back to the issue at hand, I believe this scripture can be applied to every area of life like raising children, working for a grumpy boss, fighting an illness or doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It seems difficult at times to keep doing what is right when there seems to be no immediate rewards or pat on the backs or the occasional "Mom you are the best. Thank you so much for slaving over that stove every night?"  It could happen!

I want to encourage you to continue doing the good that you are right where you are. You got this! You may not see results right here and now but it will pay off.  Should you need a boost in the encouragement area hit the contact button and I will gladly give you an encouraging word.

How to help relax a tired body.

4/3/2014

Have you ever felt like your body was screaming for some type of relief?

Well mine is today so I called up the fabulous Leslie DeShane actually I sent her a text but anyhow....

I mentioned that I was feeling light headed and generally not feeling well. Of course she rattles off a list of things to do.   And I think to myself I know this why am I not doing it?!

Isn't it just like a mom to need reminding that taking care of yourself has to be a priority? A priority that left undone causes your body to stop at the most inopportune times.

So give yourself a pampering spa like experience at home!

Soothing bath time:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Epsom salts
  • Two to four drops of your favorite Young Living Essential Oil

I love to use a few drops of lavender and Peace & Calming. After all of the above are placed in water make a figure eight in the water with your hand to stir the ingredients together.

Sigh~ let the relaxation begin.
