Psalm 1:1 states "Happy are those who don't listen to the wicked, who don't go where sinners go, who don't do what evil people do."
What a strong statement King David made concerning relationships. Human beings are relational creatures. We bond over mutual admirations or dislikes. When this bond forms for the good or the bad it tends to grow and has its own momentum.
Momentum by Webster's definition is "the strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes"
If I am regularly looking for relationships that enhance my life, sharpen my mind, encourage me or even correct me in a loving manner than that is good momentum. If I find that my conversation with someone else is degrading others, gossipping about their flaws and imperfections or if I am the brunt of all these things that is bad momentum.
The saying "birds of a feather flock together" is so true. In my younger years I was all the negative things you could think of. My conversation with others wasn't loyal, we gossiped, mean spirited and the list goes on. It wasn't until I truly let God enter my life that He showed me the road I was going down.
I was the type of person that was honest just to be mean. I didn't tell you the truth because I loved you, it was to hurt you. Friends when the Lord showed me all the people I had HURT I was so grieved. I immediately repented to him and then started apologizing to people for stuff I had said and done.
It was amazing how many times I would go to someone and ask for forgiveness and they didn't even remember the hurtful statement. I still had to ask for their forgiveness. Why? Because I didn't want to do what evil people did anymore.
Now let me tell you the road to change all those things was HARD!! But these scriptures stuck with me Psalms 1:2-3 "They love the Lord's teachings, and they think about those teachings day and night. They are strong, like a tree planted by a river. The tree produces fruit in season, and its leaves don't die. Everything they do will succeed."
Now when you hear me conversing with someone the majority of my conversation is about Jesus and ALL the amazing things HE has done in my life. My relationship with him is my momentum to keep passing on His love for all of us.
I pray the momentum of your relationship with Jesus grows faster and stronger everyday!
While searching for something or other last week I came across some of my notes from years ago when I first began this walk with God.
There are no grand ideas or expounding on the scripture. When reading 1 Corinthians 13 it hit me like a ton of bricks that I was not giving enough love to others or allowing myself to receive it. So the love walk journey began. You can not give to others what you do not possess.
Not that you can possess something as intangible as love but rather I wanted to walk in it. This long love walk is not always pretty or easy. There were days I question everything I know to be true but I hope believe and endure that the end result would be amazing. I am still walking that walk and learning from it daily.
Learning that sometimes you can love people up close and others while standing in the background. As with all things you should use wisdom and discernment to know when you should love someone up close or from afar. The elders had a saying "Sometimes you have to love someone with a long handle spoon."
I am praying that this blesses you and draws you closer to Jesus!

This scripture has been playing over and over in my mind lately. I have found myself speaking it out loud during various mundane activities like laundry and dishes.
I decided to stop the good fight on dishes and bought paper plates. Don't judge me people... cooking for 8 on a nightly basis is no small feat...
Back to the issue at hand, I believe this scripture can be applied to every area of life like raising children, working for a grumpy boss, fighting an illness or doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It seems difficult at times to keep doing what is right when there seems to be no immediate rewards or pat on the backs or the occasional "Mom you are the best. Thank you so much for slaving over that stove every night?" It could happen!
I want to encourage you to continue doing the good that you are right where you are. You got this! You may not see results right here and now but it will pay off. Should you need a boost in the encouragement area hit the contact button and I will gladly give you an encouraging word.

Have you ever felt like your body was screaming for some type of relief?
Well mine is today so I called up the fabulous Leslie DeShane actually I sent her a text but anyhow....
I mentioned that I was feeling light headed and generally not feeling well. Of course she rattles off a list of things to do. And I think to myself I know this why am I not doing it?!
Isn't it just like a mom to need reminding that taking care of yourself has to be a priority? A priority that left undone causes your body to stop at the most inopportune times.
So give yourself a pampering spa like experience at home!
Soothing bath time:
I love to use a few drops of lavender and Peace & Calming. After all of the above are placed in water make a figure eight in the water with your hand to stir the ingredients together.
Sigh~ let the relaxation begin.
